Jurassic World 3 release date, trailer, cast and all you need to know about Dominion

Jurassic World: Dominion‘s first trailer finally arrived after what felt like a lifetime of waiting, debuting in February 2022. It gave us our first glimpse at the familiar Jurassic Park heroes back in action, as well as teasers of the huge action in store in this new world of humans and dinosaurs co-existing. Lets checkout movie’s release date, cast, trailer and all you need to know about dominion.

The third film features returning writer/director Colin Trevorrow, and in addition to the trailer we’ve had some teasers that show Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire in trouble, Chris Pratt’s Owen being chased by a dangerous new raptor, and a debut for DeWanda Wise as a pilot named Kayla Watts.

There’s plenty for fans to get excited about, so without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about Jurassic World: Dominion.

Jurassic World 3 release date: When is Jurassic World Dominion out in cinemas?

Jurassic World: Dominion will arrive in cinemas on June 10, 2022 after a year-long delay to its original June 2021 release.

As mentioned, writer/director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that the threequel is completed ahead of its cinema release, so we just have to cross our fingers and hope it’s not hit with another delay.

Filming began in February 2020 before being shut down in March, but the movie was the first blockbuster to start shooting again in the UK in July, and it wrapped filming in November 2020.

Given that it’s bringing back the OG stars (more on them in a bit) and wrapping up the entire Jurassic saga to date, we’re expecting big things from the movie that we’re tipping to be 2022’s biggest hit.

As mentioned above, the long-awaited first trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion arrived on February 10, 2022.

Jurassic World 3 cast: Who’s back in Jurassic World Dominion?

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be seen once more as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing.

After the dinosaurs escaped into the real world at the end of Fallen Kingdom, Trevorrow has revealed that Owen is still trying to help them when we reunite with him in the third movie.

“The parasaurs are in danger of being poached. There’s a lot of shady types out there who want to get their hands on dinosaurs, so he’s working to protect them,” he explained.

As for Claire though, Trevorrow is remaining tight-lipped about where we find her at the start of Dominion, but did add that she’s “questioning her methods, and whether she can stay safe”.

Pratt and Howard aren’t the only stars coming back for the third movie and we’ll get to the real big ones in a bit.

First up, Isabella Sermon is returning as Maisie Lockwood, the genetically-created offspring of John Hammond’s former partner Sir Benjamin Lockwood.

It’s also been reported that Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda will be back as Franklin Webb and Zia Rodriguez, alongside Lupin‘s Omar Sy as velociraptor trainer Barry Sembene.

We had expected Jake Johnson to return as Lowery after he missed out in the sequel, but that is no longer the case. The star revealed in August 2021 that scheduling conflicts prevented him from reprising the role.

BD Wong will also be back as the morally dubious geneticist Dr Henry Wu, so hopefully, he’ll finally get his comeuppance. But he won’t be the only Jurassic Park star returning for the trilogy finale.

Though Jeff Goldblum returned to the franchise as Dr Ian Malcolm, he only had limited screen time in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. But fret not, fans of the original, Goldblum will return alongside Sam Neill AND Laura Dern.

Trevorrow has also been promising that the OG trio have “as much screen time in the film as Bryce and Chris do”, adding: “They’re not together the entire time, but we are following both of their stories equally.”

Pratt had previously teased that everyone would be returning, but there’s still no official word on reprises from Ariana Richards (Jurassic Park), Vince Vaughn, Julianne Moore (Lost World), William H Macy, Téa Leoni (Jurassic Park III), or Lauren Lapkus (Jurassic World).

As for the film’s villain, there’s a returning classic character who could be fulfilling that role – Campbell Scott takes over the role of Lewis Dodgson, aka the dodgy man in shades who handed Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) that fake can of shaving cream to store dinosaur embryos.

Jurassic World 3 plot: What will happen in Jurassic World Dominion?

After the dramatic cliffhanger to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom saw dinosaurs let loose into the actual world, 2019 short film Battle at Big Rock teased the new world order that we’ll be seeing in the third movie.

According to Trevorrow, the third movie picks up three years after this short film as Dominion is set in 2022. “Everything in my mind has always been pretty much present-day,” he explained.

“So Big Rock took place a year or so after Fallen Kingdom in 2019, when it came out, and the T-Rex has just been out in the Sierra Nevada forest where they all escaped to… She’s just been living in there; they’ve been struggling to catch her for a very long time.”
