Introduction
Avatar 2 has taken its time to arrive (and that’s placed it on level), but we should be returning to Pandora this Christmas.
After a long time, James Cameron’s sequel was formerly set for a 2014 release, before making fans wait for more than a decade. Maybe part of the wait is that Cameron wasn’t exactly taking it easy on himself, choosing to set the greater part of the film underwater.
He acknowledged to EW about his plan for the sequel. Well, we had never done this before it’s kind of madness, if Avatar had not made so much damn money.
If any person could pull it off though, it’s Cameron who has been answerable for two of the top three highest-grossing movies of all time (Titanic and Avatar). Some may question whether any person wants Avatar 2 now, but never bet against the filmmaker.
When will be Avatar 2 in Cinemas?
Finally, Avatar 2 is going to be released on 16-December-2022, after being postponed to December 2021 due to the ongoing global health crisis.
The sequel began filming in 2017, but given the movie is a mix of motion capture elements and live-action, it’s taken a while it’s not a surprise. In September 2020, Cameron revealed that they were 100% completed Avatar 2 and around 95% completed on Avatar 3.
Given that we’ve got three other movies to come, in recent years Cameron has been working on all of them. In December 2021, he revealed that some of Avatar 4 already had filmed due to the young cast.
“Everything that had to be completed with a specific actor, we did all the scenes for 2 and 3 together and a little bit of 4,” source Variety.
“I had to shoot the kids out. They’re permitted to age six years in the middle of the story on page 25 of film 4. So I needed all before then, and then all after, we’ll do later.”
What will be sequel titles of Avatar 2?
Despite the fact that we have been calling them Avatar 2, Avatar 3 and so on, there has been no any official statement on what they will be called. On the other hand, BBC reported (far to the back in November 2018) that the movies could be called:
- Avatar: The Way of Water,
- Avatar: The Seed Bearer
- Avatar: The Tulkun Rider
- Avatar: The Quest for Eywa.
Cameron later confirmed these are potential titles, but might be subject to change.
When will be the trailer out online and Budget of Avatar 2?
Sadly, so far we have no any official trailer. However, there are a load of fan-made trailers if you want something to tide you over until Avatar 2 hits.

Cameron has been realistic about the probability of seeing the next four Avatar movies; it all depends on how Avatar 2 does at the box office. He undertakes that if Avatar 2 got success, Avatar 3 in 2024.
According to sources it’s budget is 250 Million USD.
Avatar 2 will be released on December 16, 2022.
